Bridging the Gap: Ensuring Quality Faith-Based Education at Newman Catholic

Continuing the Newman Catholic legacy of quality faith-based education is a top priority for our staff, teachers, families, and our faith-based community. Thanks to your past support, we’ve been able to attract and retain exceptional educators vital to our mission. However, we still have work to do.

While the Student’s First Education Savings Accounts (ESA) has been a blessing to many families, significantly helping with tuition, the cost to educate each student is still and always has been, higher than the tuition we charge.

Cost to Educate:

  • The cost of educating each student at Newman Catholic in ’24-’25 is approximately $11,000, which has increased from $8,000 in 2019.

  • The average cost to educate a student in public schools is $14,683.

  • For 2024-2025, the state’s ESA program provides $7,826 per student to offset family tuition, which falls well below the actual educational cost, leaving a significant gap to cover.

Teacher Salaries:

  • Newman’s projected salary for new teachers in 2025-2026 is $50,000, which is now aligned with public school salaries set by legislation. We need continued support to ensure this remains sustainable.

  • Offering competitive salaries helps us retain exceptional teachers critical to our student’s success and our mission. We are blessed to have a community that has contributed to making strides in creating our teacher endowment.

Newman Catholic’s Future:

  • Continuing to offer high-quality, faith-based education is our top priority.

  • Your financial support helps close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of education, allowing us to remain competitive and financially stable. Together, we can ensure that Newman Catholic continues its legacy of nurturing students to lead, love, and serve. Your ongoing contributions will directly impact our ability to continue providing an exceptional Catholic education experience for our students, support our staff, and invest in our infrastructure. Join us in our fundraising efforts to support the future of Newman Catholic!
